1857 Sydney Mint Half Sovereign PCGS MS62
A rare coin in this state of preservation, and one of the finest Sydney Mint half sovereigns I’ve handled over the years. Fully lustrous, with great eye appeal, there is a light hairline on the obverse field that is mentioned for accuracy only (and probably the reason the coin graded MS62 with PCGS rather than MS63). Allegedly sold through Monetarium, Sydney in 1989, and from the India Hoard disbursed by Spink in 1976. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
