1920 Melbourne Sovereign PCGS MS64
Of the melt rarities of the 1920s, the 1920M sovereign is one of the more affordable dates. Unlike some of the later rarities, which can sell for over $50,000 in Mint State, the 1920M sovereign still trades for under $20,000 in high Mint State grades. The example photographed here is the equal-finest example graded by PCGS (3/23). It was sourced out of an old north-west Sydney collection, and is one of the nicest 1920M sovererigns we’ve handled in recent times. If you’ve been chasing a high-grade rare date sovereign, but don’t want to spend closer to $100,000 for one of the major rarities, this coin, priced at $14,500, is your coin. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
