1920 Melbourne Sovereign PCGS MS64
The 1920M sovereign is a key coin in any grade, but a true connoisseur should seek to obtain even the rarer dates in the highest available condition. The present coin, photographed above, is one of the finest examples of this date we’ve handled, and the best coin we’ve had the pleasure of owning since February 2019. The coin came out of a Greek collection a few years ago, and was then subsequently sold into an English collection via an American seller. Fully lustrous and rare, it is the equal-finest graded by PCGS (8/22) and an ideal coin for a sovereign rarities set or sovereign type set. Professional Coin Grading Service is the global leader in coin authentication and grading. With over 60 million coins graded and counting, PCGS is trusted by collectors, dealers, and investors to certify authenticity, protect value, and elevate market confidence. This is a direct conversion of the 70-point PCGS grade to a 10-point scale, intended to present the grade in a more intuitive format for newer collectors. It is not our personal opinion or an attempt at regrading the coin to a different standard.
