2017 UK Piedfort Silver Proof Annual 5 Coin Set
UK annual set containing five commemorative piedfort coins, all struck in .925 sterling silver. This Royal Mint set is one of just 1,500 offered to collectors in this presentation. The largest coins in the set are the pair of £5 Crowns which look back on two very different royal anniversaries. The first marks 100 years of the House of Windsor with a design by Timothy Noad. The name was adopted by King George V in 1917. The second looks back a millennia to the coronation of King Canute - also spelled ‘Cnut’ - who was King of England from 1016 until 1035. This coin was designed by Lee R Jones. This piedfort silver proof set contains two £2 coins, the first paying tribute to the roles of aviation in the First World War, the second commemorating 200 years since the death of beloved English author, Jane Austen. Rounding out the set is a Fifty Pence piece, issued to honour Sir Isaac Newton - mathematician, physicist and master of The Royal Mint - on the 375th anniversary of his birth and the 330th anniversary of the publication of his Principia Mathematica. All five coins in this set feature Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Majesty the Queen to the reverse. The fifth and final definitive effigy of Elizabeth II used on her coinage, Clark’s portrait was introduced in 2015. We’re offering this limited edition UK piedfort silver set in its original glossy black presentation cases with each coin individually encapsulated, allowing the owner to appreciate each piece without direct handling. A detailed information booklet and a certificate of authenticity are enclosed. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
