2017 Commemorative Proof 5-Coin UK Annual Set
Five coin Royal Mint commemorative proof UK annual set for 2017 including special, collectible coinage from this year. 2017 marked the centenary of the House of Windsor and this royal anniversary was celebrated on a £5 Crown alongside another Five Pound marking 1,000 years since the coronation of the legendary English King, Canute. These are accompanied by a pair of £2 coins, one to mark 200 years since the death of British author, Jane Austen and the other commemorating the role of aviation in the First World War. A Fifty Pence piece, issued on the 375th anniversary of Sir Isaac Newton's birth and the 330th anniversary of the publication of Principia Mathematica, rounds out the set. All the coins included here feature Jody Clark's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to the obverse and are struck to collectable proof quality in base metal. A special rectangular 2017 proof medal is also enclosed. These 'commemorative’ sets come in an attractive, embossed black leather folio containing a hardback, velvet-lined wallet with a sleeve for an information booklet and a certificate of authenticity. Just 7,500 commemorative sets were issued in 2017 by The Royal Mint, and they're a great way to add the year's special coinage designs to your collection.
