2009 UK Silver Proof Annual 12 Coin Set Kew Gardens
The UK annual 2009 12-coin silver proof coin collection from The Royal Mint, featuring the incredibly sought-after Kew Gardens 50p by Christopher Le Brun. This commemorative coin collection hosts a number of one-off coin designs issued in 2009, plus the definitive designs which can be found in most recent years. This highly collectable silver proof collection has four silver proof editions of commemorative 2009 UK coinage, with the other three pieces being the Henry VIII £5 Crown, the Charles Darwin Two Pound and the Robert Burns Two Pound. These were designed in order by John Bergdahl, Suzie Zamit and the Royal Mint engraving team. Each coin in this UK set is struck in 0.925 sterling silver, which was the norm for circulating UK coinage until 1919. Manufactured to The Royal Mint's proof finish using hand-polished dies, each coin is housed in a protective capsule fitted into a stylish black presentation box, which includes the number certificate of authenticity from The Royal Mint. The other collectable coins in this collection are the definitive UK coin designs: the Royal Shield of Arms One Pound followed by the partial shield series from 1p to 50p, which were the brainchild of Matthew Dent. Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is present on all the coins' obverses, which is the fourth definitive coin engraving of Her Majesty. The set has a combined weight of 115.22 grams, giving an actual silver weight of 3.4266 troy ounces. Only 7,500 sets were authorised by the Mint in this limited edition presentation. Our price includes free insured UK delivery, and we can arrange international shipping as well for a very competitive flat fee.
