The Royal Shield of Arms Silver Proof Collection from The Royal Mint. This 2008 set encompasses seven UK coins - the 2008 £1, 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p, and 1p - each struck in .925 sterling silver. While the obverse is shared, that being Ian Rank-Broadley's definitive Elizabeth II effigy, each reverse a different depiction of the Royal Arms. This picture-puzzle arrangement by Matthew Dent adorned Britain's definitive coinage from 2008 and has proved a historical and collectable combination since its initial introduction. While the One Pound functions as the 'box's lid', the remainder of the legal tender silver coins combine their fractional designs into a large shield. The coins are jointly slabbed in this complete array, presented inside the display box alongside the certificate of authenticity, supplementary booklet and specification sheet. This collectable silver set, struck to proof standard, is one of only 10,000 issued. It is in very good pre-owned condition.
