The Royal Mint's 2006 13-coin proof collection - in .925 sterling silver - celebrating Elizabeth II's 80th birthday. Includes the eight standard definitive 2006 One Pence to Two Pound denominations, struck here in silver to a proof standard. Next, a commemorative Five Pound ceremonial Crown, in a reverse designed by Danuta Solowiej-Wedderburn, salutes Her Late Majesty on her milestone year. The set is made further distinct by the addition of four silver proof Maundy coins. These Maundy coins bear Elizabeth II's first coinage portrait by Mary Gillick, while the 1p - £5 present Ian Rank-Broadley's definitive work on their shared obverse. The gross weight of the thirteen pre-owned coins is 87.92 grams, and diameters vary from 11.15 millimetres to 38.61 millimetres. Individual issue limits are 8,000, with the exception of the £5 and £1 at 50,000 and 20,000 respectively. Spink's data suggests only 6,394 of this very special presentation, complete with leather-bound box, were issued.
