A pair of Fifty Pence coins from The Royal Mint, each marking 150 years of the Victoria Cross. The awarding of this prestigious medal - the UK's highest award for gallantry - has taken place since the 1850s and remains a mark of monumental achievement today. Two coins are present, with separate designers: Claire Aldridge, whose design focuses on the medal itself, and Clive Duncan's - depicting an associated act of valour. Both obverses bear Ian Rank-Broadley's Elizabeth II effigy and each are also struck in 8.00 grams of cupronickel alloy.
