1997 Isle Of Man Golden Wedding Brilliant Uncirculated Annual Coin Set
The 1997 Isle of Man coinage set contains nine Manx coins in denominations from £5 to 1p. In the previous year, a new range of definitive reverse designs was introduced, each celebrating a much-loved sport for the Isle. These returned in 1997, aside from the £5, which, here, is a special one-year-only commemorative. The 1997 BU Five Manx Pound here marks the 50th wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip with a design showing a dual portrait. Please note that the inclusion of this Golden Wedding coin differentiates the set from the alternative version, which includes a football-themed £5. The late Queen is also represented on the obverse of these base metal, BU coins, thanks to Raphael Maklouf's effigy (the final entry to bear this portrait).
