Gold proof four-coin 1996 Sovereign set from The Royal Mint. This premium collectors set features a Quintuple Sovereign (£5), Double Sovereign (£2), a 'full' Sovereign and a Half Sovereign, all dated 1996 and struck in solid 22-carat gold. These coins all feature the classic Saint George design on the reverse, paired with Raphael Maklouf's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. The Royal Mint released just 742 of these gold proof four-coin sets in 1996. Since some of these coins are only available within these sets, they have become highly sought-after on the secondary market. This pre-owned example is available in the original Royal Mint red leather presentation case, complete with a medal and the certificate of authenticity.
