1996 UK Brilliant Uncirculated Annual Coin Collection Set
This eight-coin brilliant uncirculated set of UK legal tender is from 1996, remembered by many as the year England hosted the Euros and Atlanta held the Summer Olympics. The sporting-year is reflected in this 1996 coin collection through a special Two Pound coin in the style of a classic football. Also included, alongside the definitive 1996 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p and 1p, is a £1 featuring a design steeped in Celtic history. Each coin shares an obverse of Raphael Maklouf's effigy of Elizabeth II, which was used across much of the 90s. These coins are finished to the Royal Mint's brilliant uncirculated standard which means the Mint took extra effort to strike these base metal coins.
