Heinz 1983 coin set featuring the rare New Pence 1983 2p coin. This unassuming promotional coin set was made by the Royal Mint for the Henry J Heinz Company: famous for their baked beans and ketchup. Thousands of sets like this were produced but this is one of a small number of special sets to feature a rare error coin. The 2p coin enclosed in this card wallet should have the words TWO PENCE above the Prince of Wales plumes on the reverse but instead says NEW PENCE. Thats because on this coin and a small number of others from this year, an earlier die design was used. Its a small mistake and easy to miss at first glance, but since modern error coins from the Royal Mint are so scarce, these sets are highly sought-after by collectors seeking a real modern rarity.
