This selection of proof coinage represents the first decimal coinage struck for the Kingdom of Lesotho. The Royal Mint produced these collectable pieces in accordance with the definitive design and specification of the historic coins. Seven are present, struck in base metal and denominated in Loti and Sente. The reverse designs tie into aspects of Lesotho's culture, animal life, and flora. Meanwhile, the obverse of each shows King Moshoeshoe II's bust. Included with your pre-owned 1979 'First Coinage of the Kingdom of Lesotho' coinage set is the embossed envelope and perspex coin display case.
