1979 Bhutan Proof Annual Coin Set
This is the 1979 Bhutan proof set, struck and presented by The Royal Mint. Five coins are included in this set, which represent the first definitive circulating issues of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck. The coins are denominated in Ngultrum and its subunit Chhertum. A number of Buddhist symbols, such as the conch shell and the bumpa, are featured on the cultural reverse designs. The Buddhist iconography also continues on the obverse of these proof coins.
