1974 Swaziland Proof Annual Coin Set
This 1974 Royal Mint proof set represents 'The First Coinage Of The Kingdom Of Swaziland'. A collection of seven coins - one round, two dodecagonal, three scalloped, and one square - is presented here in the original presentation packaging. The common obverse shows an effigy of King Sobhuza II, while the reverse designs show numerous flora and fauna of Swaziland, including an elephant and the heraldic arms. Swaziland was renamed to the Kingdom of eSwatini in 2018, making this coin set a historic example of the Kingdom's past. Denominations range from 1 Cent to 1 Lilangeni, and all coins are struck to proof quality in a base metal alloy.
