2022 Platinum Jubilee Five Pound Brilliant Uncirculated Mint Pack Coin
This 2022 BU Platinum Jubilee Five Pound coin was issued by the Royal Mint to make 70 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the British throne. The then Princess Elizabeth became Queen whilst in Kenya in 1952, the year her father King George VI died. She was crowned at her coronation at Westminster Abbey a year later in 1953, aged 27. In 2015 she surpassed Queen Victoria in becoming Britain's longest-reigning monarch, and she celebrated seventy years on the throne in February 2022, the first time ever that a Platinum Jubilee has been observed for a British Sovereign. This special commemorative crown coin has unique obverse and reverse designs, engraved for this once-in-a-lifetime occasion by experienced Royal Mint coinage artist John Bergdahl. An equestrian portrait, reminiscent of the 1953 coronation crown coin is shown on the obverse, while a royal arms design graces the reverse. His reverse engraving takes its inspiration from historic coinage and shows the Queen's arms, surrounded by a royal mantle, similar the one she wore during her 1953 coronation. You'll receive your pre-owned UK coin inside an informative limited edition slipcase, with the exact specifications of the coin being 28.28 grams in weight and 38.61 millimetres in diameter. It's struck twice to give it a brilliant uncirculated finish, which is perfect for coin collectors. A fitting way to remember an amazing royal occasion.
