This 2022 BU 50p coin captures the magic of Harry Potter in an enchanting coloured image. The Royal Mint features the Hogwarts Express for the first time on a UK coin, and the famous locomotive does not disappoint. Celebrating 25 years of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', Jim kay's book illustration provides the basis for the reverse, which is brought to life by designer Ffion Gwillim. As well as special colouring, a latent feature next to our favourite train holds a shimmering '25' and lightning bolt that appear to move and glimmer. The obverse of this pre-owned Fifty Pence coin shows Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, the final official effigy of her reign. The Hogwarts Express is here stationed in 27.30 millimetres of cupronickel alloy and finished to brilliant uncirculated quality. This celebratory Royal Mint coin weighs 8.00 grams.
