Highly-collectible brilliant uncirculated (BU) coin from The Royal Mint featuring The Hogwarts Express: the second release in the new Harry Potter 25 Years Of Magic collection. Step on to Platform 9 and 3/4s at London’s Kings Cross Station to catch this magical steam train, on its way to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The iconic locomotive that carried Harry and his pals to school every term in the best-selling books by J K Rowling is shown here waiting for students to embark. The design is the work of Jim Kay, the artist behind the new illustrated editions of the Harry Potter series, adapted for coinage by The Royal Mint’s Ffion Gwillim. These licensed collectors pieces, created in partnership with Bloomsbury Publishing, The Blair Partnership and Warner Bros, Entertainment, represent the first time that the Hogwarts Express has featured on official UK currency. The coins in this eagerly-anticipated range are some of the last to feature Jody Clark's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Subsequent releases will use Martin Jennings new definitive effigy of King Charles III. This 50 Pence coin is struck in 8.00 grams of cupronickel alloy, like the circulating coins you’ll find in your change. It’s distinguished by the attractive brilliant uncirculated finish and the pleasing card display folder containing additional illustrations by Jim Kay.
