Limited edition of 10,000! This 2021 brilliant uncirculated The Snowman Fifty Pence coin is the fourth coin in the popular Royal Mint series. The Snowman first appeared on UK coinage in 2018 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the publication of the highly popular children's book. It's notable for not having any written text at all, telling the story exclusively through illustration. It tells the tale of how a young boy called James created a snowman who came to life in his garden. Like on previous releases in The Snowman coin collection, the assistant director of 'The Snowman and the Snowdog', Robin Shaw, was commissioned by the Mint to design the collectable coin's reverse. He captures James using his fingertip to apply the finishing touch to his construction, giving The Snowman the warm smile that inspired a generation of children and adults alike. This design is officially licensed by Snowman Enterprises Limited, enhancing its collectability. On the obverse, Queen Elizabeth II can be seen as engraved by Jody Clark. Each pre-owned coin is issued in the original limited edition packaging from The Royal Mint, which consists of a special Snowman-themed slipcase, with the BU 50p coin encased in a protective capsule. The coin itself weighs 8.00 grams, measures 27.30 millimetres in diameter and is struck twice during production to give its defined finish.
