The 2020 BU The Snowman Fifty Pence Coin is the third coin in the popular Royal Mint Snowman Series. The Snowman first featured on UK coinage in 2018 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the publication of the highly popular children's book. It's notable for not having any written text at all, telling the story exclusively through illustration. It tells the story of how a boy called James created a snowman who came to life in his garden. On this edition, The Royal Mint commissioned the assistant director of 'The Snowman and the Snowdog', Robin Shaw, to design the reverse. He perfectly captures the Christmas spirit by showing The Snowman giving James a hug. On the other side of the coin, the obverse, Queen Elizabeth II can be seen as imagined by Jody Clark. Your coin is issued in the original limited edition packaging from The Royal Mint, which consists of a card and envelope, with the 50p coin encased in the season's greetings card.
