This Brilliant Uncirculated Music Legends Queen Five Pound Coin is issued in limited edition packaging. Just 25,000 of these coins will be presented in this special “Kind of Magic” slipcases, and they form part of the first release of the Royal Mint’s new Music Legends coin series. This coin celebrates one of Britain’s most iconic rock bands - Queen. Formed in London in 1970, Queen rose to become one of the most successful music groups in history, with estimates of their record sales being between 250-300 million copies. The reverse of the coin, which was designed by Chris Facey, pays tribute to the four founding members of the band with their instruments. There’s Freddie Mercury’s Bechstein grand piano, Brian May’s Red Special guitar, John Deacon’s Fender Precision bass and Roger Taylor’s Ludwig bass drum, with the text “QUEEN” underlined with a microphone stand. On the coin’s obverse is Jody Clark’s engraving of Queen Elizabeth II, which is the fifth UK coinage portrait of the monarch. Each coin has a diameter of 38.61 millimetres and weighs 28.28 grams. Included with the £5 coin is a protective capsule, housed in the limited edition packaging. The coin sleeve is a carbon copy of Queen’s “Kind of Magic” album, which was the last time all four original members went on a concert tour to promote an album. It comes full of information on the band’s exploits, which makes the perfect gift option for any Queen fan. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
