To celebrate the ever-changing makeup of modern Britain, The Royal Mint issued a special set of 50 Pence coins to illustrate the diversity of Britain. This edition is the brilliant uncirculated 50p, housed in an informative coin slipcase. Originally commissioned by the then Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, the coin symbolises a shift in Royal Mint policy to be more inclusive of the people, communities and events which helped to build a diverse Britain. Minority communities have been such an important part of the story of Britain; that has often gone unrecognised and this UK 50p seeks to signal a change in the way notable individuals are honoured on UK coinage. The prime minister at the time, Boris Johnson, states the official opinion that the new coin 'echoes the government's commitment to building a fairer society for all'. On the obverse, Jody Clark's engraving of Queen Elizabeth II is visible, which is the monarch's fifth UK coin portrait. On the reverse, the Royal Mint artist Dominique Evans places the text 'DIVERSITY BUILT BRITAIN' over a background of interconnected triangles, representing strength through connection. Your cupro-nickel 50p coin weighs 8.00 grams, measures 27.30 millimetres in diameter and is struck twice to give it a brilliant uncirculated finish. It's issued in the original Royal Mint coin sleeve, which is the official limited edition packaging. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
