2019 Remembrance Day Five Pound Coloured Silver Proof Alderney Coin
Remembrance Day honours and commemorates those who served and died in conflict since WW1, and 2019 marked 100 years since the war's end. The Royal Mint, in partnership with Imperial War Museums, produced a special release to mark this centenary, including this coloured £5 Crown. Multidisciplinary artist and sculptor Harry Brockway uses profound wording from the Ode of Remembrance and presents a richly coloured poppy to reverse. On the obverse of this BU coin sits Jody Clark's effigy of Elizabeth II, who prominently took part in 2019 remembrance services. This UK Royal Mint coin is stuck in cupronickel to a diameter of 38.61 millimetres. Weighing 28.28 grams, a Five Pound face value is given to this commemorative Crown, in line with other examples. The 2019 Century of Remembrance release is no longer available from The Royal Mint, however this pre-owned coin is offered with the original presentation folder and slipcase.
