2017 Beatrix Potter Jeremy Fisher Fifty Pence Brilliant Uncirculated Coin In Folder
Following on from the success of the 2016 Beatrix Potter coin series, The Royal Mint released another four coins in 2017. This 50 Pence piece is the first ever UK coin to feature Mr Jeremy Fisher, the famous fisherman who narrowly escapes being eaten by a trout on one of his adventures. Beatrix Potter’s “The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher” is her eighth published book, which was first released in 1906. Like all previous Beatrix Potter 50p coins, Emma Noble was tasked with designing the reverse. She captures Jeremy Fisher brilliantly, complete with his Mackintosh raincoat. The text alongside Potter’s frog reads “MR. JEREMY FISHER”. On the other side of the coin, the obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark. During production the coin is struck twice to give a Brilliant Uncirculated finish, which makes a perfect collector’s piece. It weighs eight grams, measures 27.30 millimetres and is struck in cupronickel. Included with the coin is a protective capsule and informative coin sleeve, full of titbits about Beatrix Potter and The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher.
