2016 Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle Royal Mint 50p, part of the celebration for 150 years since the birth of Beatrix Potter. The children's author and illustrator created Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Squirrel Nutkin and, as charmingly depicted here, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. The reverse shows the washerwoman hedgehog with hands clasped infront of her apron and gown. The design takes inspiration from Potter's original watercolour illustrations and is applied on this UK coin by Emma Noble. On the obverse of this 27.30 millimetre coin is Elizabeth II in Jody Clark's definitive portrait. Included is the original commemorative card folder. This capsules the 8.00 gram cupronickel coin and presents it alongside many images from The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. Fans of Beatrix Potter and her Little Tales will know that she enjoyed keeping many animals - hedgehogs included.
