2016 Great Fire Of London Two Pound Brilliant Uncirculated Mint Pack Coin
The Royal Mint's Great Fire of London commemoration, struck to mark 350 years since the flames engulfed the capital in 1666. The Royal Mint itself, through its then-home in the Tower of London, was almost included in the list of almost 14,000 buildings that fed the fire. Aaron West displays the sheer scale of the fire through his landscape of London being dominated by swirling smoke. The Thames is also populated by refuges and their belongings. On the obverse side is Jody Clark's definitive artistry of Elizabeth II. This UK Two Pound is struck in both cupronickel and nickelbrass to achieve a 12.00 gram coin with a bimetallic finish. Aaron West's reverse design is fully coloured on the included card folder, presenting the 28.40 millimetre diameter £2 in a protective capsule. Also included is a detailed history of the Great Fire, allowing for fascinating insight into this pre-owned coin's theme.
