2011 Royal Wedding Five Pound Brilliant Uncirculated Mint Pack Coin

The couple met whilst at the University of Saint Andrews in Scotland and announced their engagement to the world in November 2010 having been in a relationship since 2003. The ceremony was held in April 2011 at Westminster Abbey and was televised live to the nation, with an estimated 26.3 million people tuning in to watch. To the obverse, this coin shows Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, which is the fourth official effigy to appear on UK coinage. The reverse shows a beautiful double portrait of the royal couple, facing each other. This was designed by Royal Mint sculptor, Mark Richards. This collectable UK coin weighs 28.28 grams, has a diameter of 38.61 millimetres and is issued in the original Royal Mint packaging, which consists of a coin slipcase.
