London 2012 Olympics BU 50p featuring goalball design - 13/29 in The Royal Mint's 2012 Olympics Sports Collection. Each design in this long-favoured release was chosen from public entries and goalball winner Jonathan Wren was successful in conveying the fast-paced nature of the sport. The reverse is accented with 'whoosh' lines to show the power and speed that goalball players, such as the one on this UK coin, possess. The obverse side of this London Olympics Fifty Pence, which is struck in 8.00 grams of cupronickel, holds Elizabeth II by Rank Ian-Broadley. This 27.30 millimetre coin has not been in general circulation and the brilliant uncirculated finish is upheld thanks to the capsule held within the original Royal Mint Sports Collection presentation card.
