In 2010, the Royal Mint began the issue of a new set of BU One Pound coins, celebrating the capital cities of the United Kingdom. This edition is dedicated to London, with the other version released in 2010 celebrating Belfast. The artist Stuart Devlin draws inspiration from the historic coat of arms of the City of London Corporation for the reverse of this coin. Devlin places Saint George's Cross with a sword on the top left canton, with the name 'LONDON' inscribed above and the denomination 'ONE POUND' written on either side. The other three designs are also presented in cameo. The fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, is housed on the obverse. Each piece has a brilliant uncirculated finish, appealing to British coin collectors. The specifications are a weight of 9.50 grams and a diameter of 22.50 millimetres. Your coin is housed in limited edition packaging from the Royal Mint, which includes a protective capsule in the slipcase. This pre-owned pack coin is ready for your collection.
