Eleven coin Royal Mint annual set for the year 2009, including the Kew Gardens 50p! This sought-after set includes collectors editions of UK circulating coins, issued by The Royal Mint in that year. This includes the definitive 50p, 20p, 10p, 5p, 2p and 1p coins with the shield of royal arms designs introduced to British coinage the previous year. Also in this set the familiar technology-themed Two Pound and a round One Pound with a royal arms reverse. These annual sets also include three commemorative variant designs: the Robert Burns £2 with the words of Old Lang Syne; the Charles Darwin £2 commemorative the publication of the origin of the Species and - most importantly - the rare Kew Gardens 50p. This low mintage coin is the ultimate find for change checkers and is ready to add to your collection as part of this set. These coins share an obverse or ‘heads’ design. It’s the fourth definitive coinage portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, crafted by Ian Rank-Broadley, scaled for the different denominations. The 2009 coins in this set are made of the same cupronickel as the coins in your change. The difference is the Brilliant Uncirculated finish. Also referred to as BU or BUnc coins, these pieces have a finer finish than their mass produced counterparts and are carefully inspected before they are packaged. The 11 coins come sealed in a decorative card folio that folds out into a display stand: the perfect way to show off your set.
