Two-coin Isambard Kingdom Brunel brilliant uncirculated set from The Royal Mint in original folder. Isambard Kingdom Brunel is one of Britain's greatest, best known, and most prolific engineers. From Clifton Suspension Bridge and Box Tunnel, to Paddington Station and the Royal Albert Bridge, there are monuments to his hard and meticulous work all over the south and south west of England. Clifton Suspension Bridge was his first independent, and perhaps most cherished work, although it was sadly not completed until after his death. Brunel also designed successful ships, including the SS Great Britain which was the first large ship built of iron. Notoriously passionate, enthusiastic, and willing to do manual labour alongside his team, Brunel was a great leader and inventor. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of his birth, The Royal Mint released a pair of commemorative Two Pound coins, issued in a range of finishes. 12,694 were issued in this BUnc presentation that comes with additional information about Brunel's life and work. The first coin, called 'The Man' was designed by Rod Kelly and features a portrait of the engineer with his iconic top hat and pipe, with segments of a wheel and bridge in the background. The second coin, called 'His Achievements' was designed by Robert Evans and features a section of the roof of Paddington Station. This pair of £2 coins comes sealed in their original packaging from The Royal Mint. They're made of the same metal as circulating coins but boast a fine finish, intended for collectors. A great tribute to a great Briton. System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String] System.Threading.Tasks.Task`1[System.String]
