This 2016 Wedge-Tailed Eagle is the third entry in this Perth Mint wildlife series. Each solid silver Australian bullion coin is struck with .999 alloy and is composed with one troy ounce of pure silver. The 2016 mintage year, which totalled 109,336 coins, is the first to offer a new reverse design. It shows a perched wedge-tailed eagle proudly displaying its feathers to investors and collectors of the series. On the reverse sits the definitive bust of Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, despite the fact that Jody Clark's design replaced it on UK coinage from 2015.
