US Mint 1oz Eagle from 2008, minted into a US suffering the financial crisis. As demand for bullion skyrocketed in these trying economic times, the American Eagle $1 .999 silver coin was best placed to fulfil it. The obverse depicts Lady Liberty striding in a sunburst scene by Adolph A Weinman. The reverse, part of the Great Seal of the United States, bears an eagle in a heraldic design by John Mercanti. This 2008 American Eagle coin is struck with one troy ounce of pure silver and, being a bullion edition, is finished to investment standard. The coin you receive has not circulated in the public's pockets and is offered pre-owned. 2008 marked a general increase in mintage figures, with 20,583,000 2008 1oz silver Eagles struck with this date.
