The 2005 Perth Mint 1oz Kookaburra coin. This Australian bullion coin has, since 1990, entertained collectors and investors alike with its yearly reverse design changes. The 2005 Kookaburra silhouettes the native bird against a fully frosted field. On the obverse, the Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Elizabeth II is similarly presented within a frosted section. The Perth Mint strike each of their popular Kookaburras in .999 silver and with one troy ounce of pure silver included. The Mint's data outlines 95,145 of these bullion standard editions were struck in 2005, placing this pre-owned $1 on the more collectable end of the Kookaburra spectrum.
