A 2003 African Wildlife Elephant coin - last in the series issued for Zambia. From 2004, this series, struck by the Bavarian State Mint, was issued for the Somali Republic. This final Zambian edition shows a pair of majestic elephants on the reverse, one of which reaches its trunk up into a nearby tree. On the obverse of this 2003 1oz Elephant, a coinage portrait of Elizabeth II appears alongside the 5,000 Kwacha denomination. This is one of the only examples in the series to bear a portrait of Her Majesty. In total, one troy ounce of pure silver is included in the composition of each 2003 Elephant coin.
