The 2021 Wolverine 1oz silver coin from the Marvel Comics series by Perth Mint. It is produced in 999.9 fine silver with a value of one Tuvaluan Dollar. Wolverine, real name James "Logan" Howlett, is a mutant with the ability to heal quickly from injuries, he possess animal-like senses and retractable claws from his hands. Logan is the classic tough antihero with a troubled past, being part of the secretive Weapon X program which gave him his adamantium skeleton and claws. He has been a member of the X-Men, the Avengers, and other superhero teams, and is widely regarded as one of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. The reverse of the coin features a detailed image of Wolverine, in his iconic costume with his retractable claws extended, behind the text 'Wolverine'. The obverse shows Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II - used in the UK until 2016. This shows the classic side portrait, as well as providing the coin's weight, purity, metal composition, and face value.
