### Gods of Olympus (3.) - Hades 2 Oz Silver - Antique Finish - Third issue of the "Gods of Olympus" Series - 99.9% Silver - Mintage only 1,500 pieces - With Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The third issue in the Perth Mint's legendary **Gods of Olympus** series is dedicated to **Hades**. The motive depicts Hades sitting on a throne made of bones, skulls and ebony. At his side is the three-headed hellhound Kerberos, who guards the entrance to the realm of the dead. An important attribute that is also included is the so-called Hades cap - this is the horned headdress of the underworld god, which gives its wearer invisibility. The inscription "HADES" and the Perth Mint's "P" mintmark are also included in the design. The reverse shows the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination, weight, fineness and year of issue. **Hades** is the first-born son of the Titans Kronos and Rhea and the husband of Persephone. Like his siblings, Hades was devoured by his father immediately after his birth, as he had been prophesied to be dethroned by one of his sons. Instead of Zeus, however, he devoured a stone - which enabled Zeus to free his siblings again. This was followed by a 10-year battle against the Titans. With the help of the Cyclopes and their weapons - thunder, a trident and Hades' helmet - the siblings were able to win the battle. Zeus, Hades and Poseidon then drew lots to decide who would get which realm - Zeus got the sky, Poseidon the sea and Hades the underworld. Since then, Hades has ruled over the realm of the dead, which he rarely leaves. The **limited 2 Oz Antique Finish silver coin** is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
