### HMAS Sydney II. 1 Oz Silver High Relief - Proof - High Relief Proof struck from 1oz of 99.9% silver - Limited mintage of only 750 pieces - Official Niue legal tender issue - Numbered Certificate of Authenticity - Prestigious presentation packaging The HMAS Sydney was one of three modified Leander-class light cruisers operated by the Royal Australian Navy during the Second World War. It was built in 1933 for the Royal Navy in Kiel, but during the construction the cruiser was sold to Australia. The Sydney sunk after a battle with the German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran in November 1941. Both wrecks were found in the year 2008.
