The coin was struck by the **New Zealand Mint** from two ounces of 99.9% silver in Antique Finish. The motive features an image of the Norse Dragon being slain by Sigurd. The reverse shows the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and the year of issue. The Dragon "Fafnir" is known from the nordic mythology.
