### G.I. Joe - 40th Anniversary 1 Oz Silver - Proof - in Color - Officially licensed by Hasbro - Rectangular Coin - Mintage only 1,982 pieces - With Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in thematically matching original Box The silver coin was struck by the **New Zealand Mint** from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality and is dedicated to the **40th anniversary** of the successful action comic series **"G.I. Joe"**. The **colorful motive** features the cover of the first issue of the comic book series from 1982 with the Joe team and the official 40th anniversary logo. The reverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and year of issue. In 1963, Donald Levine pitched the idea of a "military doll" product line to the toy manufacturer Hasbro. Convinced by the concept, the company began developing the world's most famous action figures. The huge success of the G.I. Joe fighting figure continued with the first comic book in collaboration with Marvel in 1982, followed a year later by a five-part animated miniseries on American television about the adventures of G.I. Joe. The success of the military troop has been unbroken ever since. Video games, further animated series, comics, action figures, animated films and several cinema productions with well-known Hollywood actors such as Bruce Willis and Channing Tatum followed. The limited edition of only 1,982 pieces is based on the year the first G.I. Joe comic first appeared. The limited **G.I. Joe - 40th Anniversary - silver proof coin in color** is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
