Together with kangaroos and koalas, these lizards belong to Australia's landmarks. They can reach a length of up to 95 cm and, as the name suggests, are easily recognised by their characteristic collar. It consists of a skin membrane on the neck, which can be set up as a threatening gesture in case of danger and makes the lizard appear considerably larger. The motive of the silver coin depicts the frilled neck lizard with a taut collar and wide open mouth. The reverse shows the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. - The inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "NIUE 2020", "ONE DOLLAR" as well as the weight and fineness are also included in the design. The coin was struck in brilliant ultra high relief from 1 ounce of 99.9% pure silver and provided with an antique finish.
