Like the previous editions in the series - Sun (1.), Moon (2.) and Earth (3.) - the coin has been refined with the **"Lunar dust effect"**, which is a combination of proofing, sandblasting and laser. Besides Mercury, other planets of our solar system with their orbits can be seen on the motive of this silver coin. The design also includes the Latin name "MERCURIUS" (engl: Mercury). On the reverse there is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, framed by orbits and planets. Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system, and the closest to the sun. The side facing the Sun can reach a temperature of up to 430 degrees Celsius, whereas the reverse hemisphere is freezing with temperatures around -180 degrees. Externally, Mercury with its cratered landscape resembles the Moon of the Earth. The strictly limited silver coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
