### Self-Portrait - Van Gogh - Masterpieces of Museums 10 Euro - 22,2 gr. Silver - Proof - Rectangular Coin - Limited Mintage only 3,000 pieces - With Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The Monnaie de Paris dedicates the series **"Masterpieces of Museums"** to the great works of art that are exhibited or created in **France**. This rectangular commemorative coin is issued in honour of the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh and his famous work **"Self-Portrait"**. The self-portrait, created in September 1889, may be the last painting of its kind created by Van Gogh. It was painted at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole sanatorium in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where he had admitted himself to hospital due to psychological problems. In addition to the self-portrait, the coin features the façade of the Musée d'Orsay where the painting is kept. The inscriptions "AUTOPORTRAIT VAN GOGH" and "CHEFS D'ŒUVRE DES MUSÉES" are also included in the design. The year of issue, 2020, is shown on the lower right-hand side of the coin. On the reverse of the coin, different views of French museums are depicted, as well as the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and the denomination **"10 EURO"**. The limited commemorative **silver coin** will be delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
