### Guernica - Picasso - Masterpieces of Museums 10 Euro - 22,2 gr. Silver - Proof - Rectangular Coin - Limited Mintage only 3,000 pieces - With Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box The Monnaie de Paris dedicates the series **"Masterpieces of Museums"** to the great works of art that are exhibited or created in **France**. This rectangular commemorative coin is issued in honour of the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso and his work **"Guernica"**. The oil painting measures an impressive 27 square metres and is an outcry against the bombing of the Basque city of Guernica by the German legion Condor. The artwork was presented in 1937 in the Spanish pavilion at the World Exhibition in Paris and is also known by critics as the "Mona Lisa of the 20th century" due to its massive popularity. The motive of the **euro coin** presents the masterpiece of Picasso which is surrounded by a depiction of his studio at 7 rue Grands-Augustins in Paris. The inscriptions "GUERNICA PABLO PICASSO" and "CHEFS D'ŒUVRE DES MUSÉES" are also included in the design. The year of issue, 2020, is located at the bottom right. The reverse of the coin features different views of French museums as well as the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and the denomination "10 EURO". The limited **silver** commemorative coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
