### French Excellence - Lacoste - Tennis Racket 10 Euro - 14,6 Gram Silver - Proof - Extraordinary Design - Official issue in collaboration with Lacoste - Limited Mintage only 6,000 pieces - With Certificate of Authenticity - Delivery in original Box With the **French Excellence** series, the **Monnaie de Paris** celebrates the tradition of fine French craftsmanship. The 2023 edition pays homage to **Lacoste**, the first sportswear brand in history, as well as to its **90th founding anniversary**. To highlight the special connection between the Lacoste brand and competitive sports, particularly golf and tennis, this silver coin was struck **in the shape of a tennis racket**. The tennis racket's cover features a crocodile, the brand's emblem and nickname of René Lacoste, and a tennis ball. As a tribute to Simone Thion de la Chaume, golf champion and wife of René Lacoste, the tennis ball has been given the texture of a golf ball. The reverse features the famous cotton piqué pattern, as well as the denomination and year of issue. The world-renowned French clothing brand Lacoste was founded in 1933 by the successful tennis player René Lacoste (1904-1996). The trademark, a stylized crocodile, is internationally known and adorns not only clothing, but also perfume, leather goods, eyewear and shoes. The limited commemorative coin in proof quality is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
