This silver coin is dedicated to the **40th anniversary of the Alpha Jet** - an iconic aircraft of the French aerobatic squadron from the 1980s. Developed out of a cooperation between Germany and France, the twin-engine light fighter-bomber was used especially for close air support. In France, the aircraft belonged to the well-known "Patrouille de France" flying squadron. The motive of the **euro silver coin** features an Alpha Jet in flight. The fighter jet was struck in the colors of the French flag. The design is surrounded by the inscriptions "40 ANS D'ALPHA JET", "1981-2021" and "Patrouille de France". The reverse features two pilots, symbolizing military and civil activity, as well as outlines of various types of aircraft. The inscription "L'AVIATION & L'HISTOIRE" (engl.: "Aviation and History") is also included in the design. The limited **5 Oz commemorative coin** from **France** is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
