The Wedge Tailed Eagle series of coins from Australia's Perth Mint has been quite a treat for collectors so far. The eagle designs were created by John Mercanti, who retired from his job as Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint a few years ago. This 1 oz. Silver Wedge Tailed Eagle was struck in 2017 and is made of .999 fine silver. It has a standard finish. The work of Ian Rank-Broadley can be found on the obverse. This side displays a highly detailed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the coin's face value. The wedge-tailed eagle design is on the reverse. This is also where the coin's Mint mark, date, weight, and purity are inscribed. This Mercanti design lives up to our expectations and provides a realistic depiction of the wedge-tailed eagle. This coin is still in its original capsule from the Perth Mint. It has not been graded, it is still in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition. When you receive this coin, it will look like it just left the Perth Mint.
