### Confucius - World Heritage in Qufu 30 gr. Silver - Proof - 99.9% silver - 40 mm in diameter - Mintage 50,000 pieces This 10 Yuan coin of 30 grams silver is dedicated to the "World Heritage - Temple and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong Family Mansion in Qufu". The coin shows the Main Gate of Kong family mansion in Qufu with Chinese wordings "Kong Family Mansion, Qufu" and the face value. The other side of the coin shows the Emblem of the People’s Republic of China, with country name and year date 2017. Confucius (approx. 551 BC - 479 BC) was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician, and philosopher of the Spring and Autumn period of Chinese history. The Temple of Confucius in Qufu, Shandong Province, is the largest and most renowned temple of Confucius in East Asia. It is the largest and oldest Confucius temple on earth and likes the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Since 1994, the Temple has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Temple and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong Family Mansion in Qufu". The two other parts of the site are the nearby Kong Family Mansion, where the main-line descendants of Confucius lived, and the Cemetery of Confucius a few kilometers to the north, where Confucius and many of his descendants have been buried.
