2016 China 1 oz ANA World Fair of Money Commemorative 999 Silver Proof Show Panda (Sealed)
To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the American Numismatic Association, the American Numismatic Association and Champion Auction jointly issued three limited edition Panda commemorative medals minted by the Shanghai Mint Co., Ltd: a 1-ounce silver medal, a 1-ounce gold medal, and a 12-ounce silver medal. The Panda commemorative medal for the American Exhibition in 2016, which returned once again, was designed by Yu Min, a senior artist at the Shanghai Mint Co., Ltd. The commemorative medals for the Macau Numismatic Society Exhibition in 2014 and 2015, as well as the Berlin World Coin Exhibition in 2016, all organized and issued by Champion Auction, were also designed by Yu Min. **Design and mintages of the silver medals** The central design on the obverse of the 2016 American Numismatic Association Exhibition Panda commemorative medal features the obverse design of the 1925 75th anniversary of the California Statehood (Diamond Jubilee) 50-cent commemorative coin. On either side of this central design are a Chinese panda (left) and an American California bear (right). The central design is that of the 50-cent commemorative coin, with the inscription "Hollywood" above on the outer edge. Behind the panda is lush bamboo, and behind the California bear stands a tall redwood tree. The central design on the reverse of the commemorative medal features the emblem of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) Lamp of Knowledge and its common inscription. There are two concentric circles of inscriptions surrounding it. The outer circle includes the English text "125TH ANNIVERSARY ANAHEIM 2016" above and "THE LAMP OF KNOWLEDGE" below, while the inner circle contains the corresponding Chinese text. The 1-ounce silver commemorative medal was minted in a limited quantity of 2,000 pieces.
